Heroes: Fugitives
The new season of Heroes started last night. I don't know if you can really call it a new season since it is part of the same production run as the "Villains" season. After the last two misfires I had high hopes for this new season. However, after last night I was unimpressed. Here's what I didn't like:- Hiro has no powers. He's got the best ones too. But I suppose if concept is catching and imprisoning the Heroes, having someone who could teleport anywhere would be a show stopper.
- Peter's power has changed. Now he can only have one power at a time. If the power is somehow tied to ones DNA like a fingerprint, why would his power change when removed and reinjected? I call shenanigans.
- Mohinder and Peter meeting up was just a bit to coincidental for me. He just happened to pick him up right before they were both picked up by the new baddies? I call shenanigans.
- Finally, they reshuffled the bad guys. Last year it was Tracy, Peter, Syler, and Mohinder. This year Angela and Noah join Peter and the bad guy conspiracy. It seems a bit out of the blue. I call shenanigans.

X-Men on TV
X-Men rip off are all the rage on TV. I love 2/3 of them. Painkiller Jane is awful.
Last week The 4400 ended it's fourth season with yet another this-changes-everything season finale. This time the forgotten younger brother of the leader of the "good" x-men group took the promicin shot to become an x-man. Of course his ability was being able to create a promicin virus. Everyone he can in contact with became infected and began to infect others. 50% of those died and the others became x-men themselves, including the way-to-good-looking head of NTAC. But will sexy uninfected Tom Baldwin take the shot on purpose? The book from the past says "yes".
Just a week after The 4400 ended, x-men where back on TV with a new Heroes. A great start to a second season. Matt and his SSDM Mohinder are taking care of Molly and trying to infiltrate "the company". Claire and family are trying to be normal but another fly-boy has entered her life. Hiro is in the past hanging out with his idol Kensei. Is he an x-man? Sulu got tossed from a building, but will that kill him. If so, for how long? Who was the assassin? Nathan has gotten all scruffy and Peter is looking hot in Ireland. The two x-men come from Central America seem to kill people. They are looking for Mohinder. Soon Veronica Mars joins the cast. Yay, Veronica!

Heroes - End of Volume One
The final chapter of Volume One aired last night. If you don't want to be spoiled, then stop reading. It was awesome. Lots of stuff was resolved, new stuff was introduced, and questions remain unanswered. I was happy to see everyone gather together in Kirby plaza for the big show down between Peter and Syler. So the big question is where did the timeline diverge from the alternate future we kept seeing? And did the bomb really get stopped? From what we know of Hiro visit to the future, the bomb went off the next day after the election but the last episode only included events up to the night of the election. Also, it looks like Syler may in fact not be dead but hiding in the sewer. It is not clear if anyone is dead, in fact. Nathan could have taken Peter to the upper atmosphere and then flown to a minimum safe distance. Peter didn't necessarily explode, but just generate an explosion. He could have rengerated from it like he did in the alternate future. Matt the telepath was shot and taken in the ambulance. Although Syler flinging bullets at him wouldn't be nearly as bad as getting shot so he could pull through. DL was shot and didn't get attention for some time so his fate is much more dire.
In the end, we never learned what Nathan and Peter's mom's power was but we didn't find out Claire's dad's name is Noah. This is a strange thing to keep hidden but that piece of info was extremely satisfying. Niki seems to have taken on the powers of Jessica and perhaps put the second personality to rest for good. Hiro ended up back in time to meet the guy whose sword he stole from Linderman. If Kensei had powers it would explain why Linderman has the sword. And of course they set up the new big bad. Molly describes him as worse than Syler. When she tries to see him, he can see her. Scary.
