Ellen Idol
The big news of the day is Ellen is joining the cast of Idol. I love Ellen and this is totally going to get her Giraffe money. Long ago on her talk show she said how Michael Jackson was so rich that he could afford a private zoo with a Giraffe. That's rich. She is totally on her way there. She also signed up for many more talk show years, to at least 2014.I'm sure she will be great during the regular Idol season. I'm not sure how she will make it through the city audition phase. She is so nice I can't see her sitting there day after day while people have their dreams crushed in front of her. I know the other judges have all come up through the music industry so they are used to this. It might have been as hard for her in the comedy circuit. Although she was the first female comic on the Johnny Carson show to be called over to the couch after her routine. That was very big.
I've really gotten into Idol in recent years and this is just another great reason to watch!

Idolopotamus
American Idol ends tonight. I haven't been so into a season ever. I watched last year and I didn't really care which one of them one. This year I really want Adam to win. Of course Kris is much hotter but he's married. Adam is clearly the better singer of the two. I don't think Simon has even said anything negative about him. I think Simon said once he was the best singer they've ever had in eight seasons. But he won't win. The fundies like O'Rielly spent the last few days stirring up their base making them think if Adam won it would be a referendum for gay rights in the country. And the biggest loser in this game is Kris. He is going to win a competition he doesn't deserve and never achieve the success he should as the season eight winner. On the other hand, Adam will achieve the same success whether he wins or not. I feel bad for Kris.Labels: American Idol

American Idol? More like Embarrassing Idol
I decided not to fight the Idol this year. Usually I complain about and mock the show. Then by the middle of the season, I'm hooked. This year I'm started from the beginning. I'm watching the first episode right now. They are auditioning in Phoenix. They are only on the third applicant and Paula is already throwing stuff at Simon. He did take a cheep shot at Straight Up! so he did deserve it. I think he has a writer. My early impression is The New Chick is a great addition. She has lots of industry experience. I don't know her name and I will always just call her The New Chick.I still think the audition episodes are just mean. You know that the four judges don't see all 100,000 applicants. That means the bad people who go before them have already been screened once of twice. They are being set up to be embarrassed on national television. I think that's kind of despicable.
